My name is Jennifer Maslar Teer and I am a credentialed K-12 Special Education teacher in both California and Ohio. I studied special education at the University of Dayton and earned my Masters in Reading Instruction from Loyola Marymount University.


I have taught at both the elementary and high school level in private and public schools. 


My experience working in public and private schools gives me a unique insight into the workings of those school systems. I am deeply passionate about giving students the support they need to be successful readers and students. I will work with you to ensure your student's school is providing the services and support they are entitled.


In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and dog Pedro.

Our son has ADHD and anxiety, which severely impacts his relationships at school. Our son has ADHD and anxiety, which severely impacts his relationships at school. To combat his constant visits to the principals office for behavior he couldn’t control, we asked the school for an IEP assessment so we could secure him a behavior aide. For a year we were repeatedly denied assessments for an IEP because of his academic achievements - all while having frequent meetings with the school about his behavior and the potential consequences he could face. 


We were frustrated, sad and defeated. We had all but given up but then, we met Jennifer. She was patient and listened to our story - it was the first time we felt truly heard. She identified the ways our son qualified for an IEP despite his grades and armed us with the tools to fight for it. We were able to plead our case with confidence now that we understood how the system worked. The result - our son finally has an IEP and a 1x1 aide who is there to help him succeed. 


Thank you Jennifer for everything! We don’t know where we would be today without your support and guidance. YOU are the reason our son is now thriving.
